Two Sets of Dishes?
When I acquired my first set of dishes when I was in London, I was so happy with the Sherbrooke pattern by Royal Doulton. When I moved to New York City a few years later, I brought that Sherbrooke pattern with me to New York, and had it proudly displayed in my kitchen. I was completely satisfied with this gorgeous bone white pattern with a blue border and platinum rim; set for twelve. It never occurred to me, nor was I thinking of a second set of dished.
At the time I was living in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, there was a flea market every Saturday at an elementary school on Seventh Avenue. I always stopped at this flea market, and I got to know some of the vendors. One Saturday, I noticed a very pretty set of dishes. I thought the pattern was very sweet, white with a bouquet of flowers in the center, a curved and platinum rim. Was it possible to have more than one set of dishes? Apparently yes. My second set is the Crown Bavaria Bouquet. A very sweet pretty plate.
